Trail of Healing

January 28-February 2, 2011

We want YOU as well as members of the TXAPN Council, pastors, leaders, intercessors and church members of the entire State of Texas (as well as Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Mexico) to join us in force along the trail.  The worship sites and hotels are listed at the end of this article. A core team will make the entire trip.  Please keep them covered in prayer.

This major assignment for the Texas Apostolic Prayer Network will be retracing the El Camino Real de los Tejas. This significant trail goes from Natchitoches, Louisiana to the Texas-Mexico border. The trip was first conceived as the Lord made a Macedonian Call to me to send resources and reinforcements to John and Jan Peel in Roma, Texas.

I can remember the Lord prophetically declaring through me, when Chuck Pierce commissioned me in June 2007, that one of the primary reasons for TXAPN was to stand with each other as a united intercessory state network. When someone in El Paso was in need – we must go, as a State, to his or her aid.  If someone needs us in Jasper – we must go.  If someone in Houston, Lamesa, Granbury, Marble Falls, Amarillo, Waskom or anywhere needs us – we must go. Roma NEEDS us. 



But the strategy has gone beyond the first call.  The Lord is instructing us to dismantle major iniquitous roots and routes that were established in our land and to call forth the destiny of our state that was established by the Lord.  There are three things the Lord has asked us to do on this trip:

       •    Kneel in Repentance.  We will stop at key areas along the trail. 

       •    Establish His throne through Worship.  We will stop for evening sessions of worship.

       •    Give an offering in order to support the work at Roma (Give at eGiving here)

We will carry the TXAPN War Chest to fill up for Bethel Mission. Here are the scheduled stops. Make plans now to join us somewhere along the trail.  All the meetings are open.  Bring offerings for Roma. It's time for Texas!  It's time to enter our destiny in the Lord!

Election Sermon

Yesterday was one of those moments that will be indelibly etched in my memory.  It is one of those times when you say, "I just witnessed history."  I spent all day Tuesday at our State Capital in Austin, Texas.  I was there as the coordinator of the Texas Apostolic Prayer Network to witness the opening of the 82nd Texas House of Representatives.  I was able to visit, pray and connect with key legislative leaders.  It is our greatest desire to serve them by under girding them with prayer.  The highlight of the day was the hearing of the Election Sermon.  For the first time in Texas history a sermon was delivered before members of the Texas Senate and House of Representatives.  The idea was based on the common practice of preaching messages to newly elected officials in the 17th-19th century.

The following was written by Texas Representative David Simpson and was printed on the bulletin:

At the beginning of each civil year in conjunction wit the general election, legislative and executive officers would commonly request ministers to deliver public sermons to newly elected political bodies.  The subject of these "election sermons" was the character and role of government.

Sermons were also preached when officers were elected to the local militia.  These were designated "artillery sermons."  They dealt with the the biblical basis for the defense of liberty and the manner and importance of being a godly soldier.

These facts demonstrate that the Colonial leaders, the founding fathers, and numerous statesmen in subsequent generations did not ban the influence of religion on civil government, as is commonly urged in our day.  On the contrary, they invited it, encouraged it, and deemed it essential for the stability and preservation of good government and society.

And I was there to witness it.  It was a great day for Texas as nearly 30 legislators attended as well as David Barton of Wallbuilders (1790 Election Sermon) and other pastors.  Lord - You are the foundation stone of our State!

The Lord's Promise

^{Beautiful rains and snow fell on portions of Texas over the weekend. At our home in Arlington we had over two inches of rain.  Praise the Lord! Back in December, I wrote a blog about the drought that was once again taking hold of the land.  See blog. During worship at Granbury, Texas yesterday morning, the worship leader, Isaac Duke, read the following passage:}

"For the land which you go to possess is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and watered it by foot, as a vegetable garden; but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year" (Deuteronomy 11:10-12).

My heart leaped with joy.  This is the Lord's promise to Texas.  I looked up the newest drought map on the internet.  There has been improvement throughout the state over the last few weeks.  We need to continue to enthrone the Lord over us.  But what caught my eye was the location of the severest portions of the drought.  They highlight the location throughout the state of the El Camino Real de los Tejas that we will be travelling at the end of the month. Watch for a new blog on the trail soon and join us in possessing Texas for the Lord.

This land, which we are about to possess for Him is a land "which drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year."

Texas belongs to the Lord.  Drink in His blessings, Texas!

What does "good" mean?

This morning I had the joy of preaching at Brazos Covenant Ministries in Granbury, Texas.  The ministry is led by Merrie Cardin.  Merrie is one of our executive council members for Texas Apostolic Prayer Network.  During worship the Lord began to speak to us of His goodness.  He declared how good He is.  We acknowledged that His creation (including us) is good!

But what does "good" mean? My wife Kay got my attention during our singing and showed me the following quote:

The first use of this word is in Genesis chapter one where God calls his handiwork "good". It should always be remembered that the Hebrews often relate descriptions to functionality. The word "tov" would best be translated with the word "functional". When looked at his handiwork he did not see that it was "good", he saw that it was functional, kind of like a well oiled and tuned machine. In contrast to this word is the Hebrew word "ra". These two words, "tov" and "ra" are used for the tree of the knowledge of "good" and "evil". While "ra" is often translated as evil it is best translated as "dysfunctional". 

My heart leapt. Oftentimes when we use the word "good" we think of a job well done or we speak of someone's performance. We call someone "good" if they show good moral qualities.  

"You did a good job."  "You are a good person."

Good can also seem mediocre in comparison with words such as excellent, beautiful or wonderful.  Those are words I would have used to describe creation in Genesis 1.  But God used "good," but not as a word describing beauty or moral character.  He looked on creation and saw that it functioned well - perfectly.  And He used the same word to describe you and me.  He created us to function perfectly - like well oiled machines.  He created us in His image!  He created us for a destiny to be kingdom people - royalty meant to reign with Him.

Yes we fell.  But even more so we are redeemed through the Lord Jesus.  We are redeemed back to God's original intention.  We are redeemed to function as His kings and priests.  We are redeemed, not as dysfunctional, tattered and worn out saints, but as those empowered to be agents of redemption in a world crying out for help.

The Lord is good.  The Lord declares to you, "you are good!"

Taking Dominion Over The Atmosphere

Eyes Right

Yesterday was a marvelous day of worship and prophetic revelation at Prince of Peace Church. Prior to our time of worship the Lord was already informing us that He was about to shift us into a new season of authority and warfare.  He was instructing us that we were to let go of past issues.  He had prompted me to preach on Joseph and how the Lord released him to be an agent of redemptive authority.

Joseph did not let his circumstances dictate his life. He refused to succumb to the issues  of his life.  He did not embrace a spirit of entitlement.  Instead, after he was sold by his brothers and again after he was imprisoned, he diligently set his hands to his work and quickly won the confidence of his new owner/jailer. Some people cannot seem to let go of past wrongs, real or imagined. They wallow in self-pity and anger, holding on to old resentments. This seems to be a normal human reaction to misfortune and conflict.  Joseph moved away from entitlement to destiny.

In doing so he became active agent of redemption not only for his own life, but also for Egypt and more importantly – his people Israel.  He moved from the pit to the palace and released forgiveness and blessing over all generations to come. The Lord has the same destiny in store for us. 

In the midst of our praise and worship, Pat Wistner, our Minister of Healing, gave the following word from the Lord:

No traditions of men should or will trump my Kingdom coming.  I'm opening up your ears to hear the sound of heaven. In the sound there is direction.  2011 is a year of keeping your ear near the Father's heart to hear his slightest sigh!

The beat of My heart changes rhythm for every situation.  Stay in rhythm with Me.  Step out, step up, step into what I AM is doing - out of your comfort zone. YES - "out of this world" and its wisdom and direction. You will make a radical shift.

Walk quietly like a warrior in the forest. Warriors have a keen sense of exactly what the commander desires and is ready at an instant to comply. 

Pat Wistner concluded by saying: "The vision I saw was of troops marching in review before the commander.  They are all in step and in line - one lead person is assigned the duty of yelling "Eyes Right!" at which point every head is turned to the commander and every eye is on HIM."

EYES RIGHT!  Throughout our time of worship the Lord kept exhorting us to stay our eyes on Him.  He instructed us to pass into the new year - letting go of old things - and to set our eyes and ears on Him.  He is filling us with His Spirit of wisdom and understanding - just as He did with Joseph.

Then Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find a man like this, in whom is a divine spirit?"  So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you are. "You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you." Pharaoh said to Joseph, "See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt." Then Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put the gold necklace around his neck. He had him ride in his second chariot; and they proclaimed before him, "Bow the knee!" And he set him over all the land of Egypt. Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Though I am Pharaoh, yet without your permission no one shall raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt."(Genesis 41:38-44)

EYES RIGHT!  The Lord is calling us as warriors who clearly see Him and hear His voice.  At the end of our service, we all stood at attention before the Lord.  At the command of a voice - we turned our eyes toward the altar and cross.  We gave our allegiance to our Lord, Commander and King.  As I have declared several times in the last few weeks.  He is mustering the troops.
