Two passages are running through me like a fire. I know that we are in day 32 of a 40 day initiative regarding human trafficking but all of his can be summed up in God's declaration that life, and not death, will be released on earth. Whether we are talking about trafficking, prostitution, sex slavery or abortion - we are talking about death stealing life away. We are talking about destinies being stolen and dreams being destroyed. But God is life! And God is on His throne. And God is rendering His verdict.
"I kept looking until thrones were set up, and the Ancient of Days took His seat; His vesture was like white snow and the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was ablaze with flames, its wheels were a burning fire. "A river of fire was flowing and coming out from before Him; thousands upon thousands were attending Him, and myriads upon myriads were standing before Him; the court sat, and the books were opened" (Daniel 7:9-10).
And His verdict His life! He will, as a just and holy God and Judge, rule with righteousness. Even if
we choose death, God will always choose life. And He will, because it has already been sealed through the cross, will destroy death and its attempt to rob us of life.
"See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity; in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it. But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, I declare to you today that you shall surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess it. I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them" (Deuteronomy 30:15-20).
LIFE FOREVERMORE! GOD HAS RENDERED HIS JUDGEMENT!
