She shared the times when "all the prayers" seemed to avail nothing! Pray! Pray! Pray! Nothing! Depression, tiredness and "a quitting attitude" would set in. But God would always come through. The Lord would divinely step in and give her an key appointment with an other intercessor, pastor or city leader. The only way you can lose is if you quit! We must keep listening, obeying and walking. God is unraveling His plan and sometimes we see it and sometimes we don't. We simply trust and obey.
Tuesday I shared a portion of 1 Kings 19 when Elijah faced the same scenario:
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!” Then as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat.” Then he looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again. And the angel of the LORD came back the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.”
We are in that same position. As we enter Day Nine of prayers we must not be swayed by the scenes around us. We still are in drought. The river is still rising. The political realm is wavering out of control. Our prayers and declarations are availing nothing. WRONG! There is another "rain" passage we need to grasp.
“ For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:10-11)
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:10-11)
We shall see the kingdom of God prosper in our midst. Press on!
