Who were these people? A couple of weeks ago Kelly Wilson brought us a message on crossing the Jordan and how we are those priests (people) carrying the Ark of God's presence into the promised destiny. Yesterday the Lord revealed to me a fuller understanding of who these people were. These were the ones out of the wilderness. Yes, they were kept from going into their promise for forty years because of the rebellion of their forefathers, BUT they didn't just wander around aimlessly waiting for their time to come.
The word I received from the Lord was this: "I trained up a people in the wilderness that fully trusted in Me and my provision for them. They moved at My direction as I Myself led them. I provided them EVERY need from sandals to clothes to food and water. I trained them to know Me and obey Me."
When these people came out of the wilderness they were an obedient and trusting army ready to bring forth God's kingdom. Oh, they still had their imperfections and their moments of disobedience, but they were ready to enter into their promise.
"So it was, when all the kings of the Amorites who were on the west side of the Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had crossed over, that their heart melted; and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the children of Israel."Joshua 5:1 NKJVWe are those people. That is God's design for us! He desires for us to hear only His voice and know only His provision. He is training our hands for war. Yes, we are carriers of His presence, life, grace and forgiveness, but we are also an army prepared to bring down every scheme of the enemy. The enemy will look upon us and "there will be no spirit in them any longer" because of the redeemed children of God in Christ Jesus.
