Yesterday during prayers in the office, we were overwhelmed (in a good way) by the tremendous goodness of the Lord. We seem to be in that moment of time when everything is flowing together. It is that point when two streams or rivers come together to form a greater river. The word that came to mind was "convergence."
As I woke up the is morning, that word was still on my heart. How is it defined?
Convergence (noun):
- an act or instance of converging.
- a convergent state or quality.
- the degree or point at which lines, objects, etc., converge.
- Ophthalmology – a coordinated turning of the eyes to bear upon a near point.
So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” (Exodus 3:4)Convergence (or unity) comes when our eyes and hearts are all focused (bear} upon the same thing. As we covenantally join together with The Prayer Room tonight at 7, as we enter a new season of worship and ministry, and as we come to the ending of our Seventy Days of Blessing and begin an initiative with Human Trafficking – our singular focus must remain on Jesus and Him alone. Let us turn aside to look upon Him!
