Last night during the "Lifting Up Eagles" class we discussed our responsibility as stewards of God's kingdom. In the lesson, I wrote:
The true understanding of stewardship does not begin with "how" we are to use what God has given us, but that God has created and owns all things. There is absolutely nothing that has been made that was not made by His hands. And there is absolutely nothing that falls outside the bounds of His ownership.
The sad commentary of our generation regarding the issues of abortion, drugs, environment, welfare, sexual abuse, stress, etc. is summarized in the statement: "It's my body (life, time, money) and I'll do anything I want with it." You can not tell people how to be stewards of that which they think they own. But God is the owner of all things and He has graciously entrusted the stewardship of all things to us.
"The earth is the Lord's,and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it. For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers" (Psalm 24:1-2).Step into your responsibility as stewards. He is pouring wealth, health and miracles into our lives!
